I don't write the code. I run the team that does, and most of that team is AI. I've used it to build a tax-planning platform, a coaching app and a recovery companion, and to take a BBQ shop online.
A typical afternoon, replayed. Each line is one agent checking in with me.
The story
From marketing a tax firm to running it on AI.
I'm not an engineer, and I never planned to be one. What I'm good at is seeing how a business should run, then refusing to stop until it does.
The beginning
Where it started
I spent a few early years in California, close enough that Disneyland became our family's place. I still love it: a whole world someone imagined, then built so well you forget your everyday problems for a while. Then we moved to Sandy, Utah, where I grew up. My first sale was the Otter Pops my mom bought for summer. My friends and I sold them door to door for a quarter apiece and came home with $6, sure we'd struck it rich.
2022–2024
Tax Tutor, then Vanuatu
My first real marketing work was YouTube and marketing for my dad's Tax Tutor, which taught bookkeepers to add tax prep to their businesses. Many of them were moms working from home to earn a little more for their families. Then I left to serve a two-year mission for my church in Vanuatu. AI showed up while I was in the middle of nowhere, and I came home in July 2024 to a world that had changed without me.

Learning the business from the inside
When I got home, my dad brought me into Taylor Proactive Team, a proactive tax-planning firm. I started in marketing and sales: websites, lead magnets, events, networking. Sitting next to the tax strategists showed me how much of a firm's week goes to work a machine could do.
Spring 2026
When it clicked
I'd been using Genspark for slides, then its Claw agents to build websites. At Russell Brunson's Inner Circle in April 2026, I realized these agents could do far more. Not long after, I showed my friends Cole and Eddie what was possible one night at Kiln, and Lakon was born. In June, at a Flow Mastermind event in Cabo, I met Brad Hart. He was the first person I'd talked to about AI who was clearly ahead of me, and in July I joined his Optimus Mastermind. Most of what's on this page came after that.
2026
Chief AI Officer
At Funnel Hacking Live's AI edition this fall, Merrill and Amanda saw the vision I'd been building toward. They took marketing and sales off my plate so I could go all in on AI. Now agents handle the firm's day-to-day: a tax planner that models real dollar outcomes, a client portal, an internal assistant, and a CRM built to replace off-the-shelf practice software. The tax pros still sign off on anything that counts.
2026
Turning the playbook into companies
What worked inside the firm became PraxDex, a system for other CPA firms. Along the way came Lakon for coaches, Forged Bond for people in recovery, and real sites for real local businesses.
Now
One terminal, several companies
Most days start in a single terminal window. I hand the work to agents, a separate critic agent grades it, and very little reaches me until it's ready to judge.

Taylor Proactive Team
A proactive tax firm, not one that only files returns. My job is growth and putting the firm on AI, so the strategists spend their hours on strategy.
Built here: a multi-scenario tax planner with auditable math, a client-ready plan presenter, a secure client portal, and the firm's own CRM.
A coaching platform for personal trainers and their clients: training, nutrition and wearable data in one place, so the coach and the client always see the same numbers.
A 3D interior-design studio I built as a surprise for my wife. A household app our family runs on. A 3D clubhouse for building a business with friends.
Built for fun, held to the same standard
See it running
Real builds, running on sample data.
How I build
Nothing ships until it beats something real.
I call it the gauntlet. Every build gets a named target: the best product in its category. One agent builds and a separate critic agent judges it blind, side by side with that target. The builder keeps going until it wins.

“The goal isn't to use AI. It's to build a company where people only touch the decisions that matter.”
— How I think about every system I build
What I hold to
Rules I won't break.
The live system is the proof.
A thing is done when it works for the person using it, not when a checklist says it passed.
A human signs the big ones.
Agents do the routine work and log every step. Money and judgment calls go to a professional.
Privacy is part of the design.
Client data is redacted before any model sees it, kept on hardware we control, and never used for marketing.
Measure against the best.
"Good enough" isn't a target. The benchmark is the strongest product in the category, judged blind.
Photography
Behind the camera.
When I'm not building, I'm usually outside with a camera. Landscape photography from Utah's canyons and salt flats to Hawaii's coast and Alaska's glaciers.
Meet with ColbyIf you're playing all out and want a clear picture of what AI could do in your business, let's talk. The same goes if you're in a mastermind and want to trade connections. I don't have a formal offer. I help where it makes sense, and if there's a fit, we can talk about working together.
